1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Lean ground beef |
1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | Ground breakfast sausage |
1 | Onion - chopped | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Butter |
2 | Garlic cloves - minced | |
1 | Sliced mushrooms | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt - or to taste |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Nutmeg |
1 | Frozen spinach - (10 oz) - thawed, squeezed dry | |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Flour |
6 | Eggs - beaten | |
3/4 cup | 177ml | Milk - scalded |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Shredded Cheddar cheese |
In a skillet, lightly brown meats and onion in butter; drain excess fat and place meat mixture in a well-greased crockpot.
Stir in garlic, mushrooms, salt, nutmeg, spinach, and flour. Beat eggs and milk together; pour over meat mixture. Stir well; cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 9 hours, or until firm.
Sprinkle with shredded cheese 5 minutes before serving.
This recipe yields 6 servings.
