1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Ground beef |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Onion - , chopped |
1 | Garlic - , finely minced | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Pepper |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Parsley flakes |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Sweet basil flakes |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Chili powder - (opt.) |
2 | Tomato sauce - (or 1 15-oz. Can) | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Grated parmesan cheese |
1 | American beauty curly-roni |
Cook beef, onion, and garlic in a large fry pan until meat is lightly browned and onion is soft. Add remaining ingredients except cheese and Curly-Roni. Add 3 cups of water, bring to boil, add uncooked Curly-Roni. Stir, return to boil, cover and cook over medium heat 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Add grated cheese, stir well, cover, turn off heat and let stay on burner 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Reheat if necessary. Makes 6 cups.
