Cottage Macaroni Casserole Recipe - Cooking Index

1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Chopped inion |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Chopped green pepper |
1-15 oz | 28g | Can tomato sauce |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Salt |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Dried oregano |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Pepper |
1- oz | 28g | Pkg macaroni |
1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Cottage cheese |
1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Shredded cheddar cheese |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Grated Parmasan cheese |
Combine beef, inion and green pepper in large skillet. Cook and stir over medium heat until the meat is browned. Drain off excess fat. Stir in tomato sauce, salt, oregano and pepper. Cover skillet, turn down heat and let mixture simmer 30 minutes. Stir occasionally. In the mean time, cook macaroni according to package directions. When it is tender, drain and combine with meat mixture. Stir in cottage cheese and chredded cheese. Blend well and turn whole mixture into a 2 1/2 quart casserole. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes, then sprinkle parmasan cheese over top and return dish to oven for an additional 5 minutes. Serves 8.
