| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Pepper |
| 3 1/2 oz | 99g | Green chiles - (1/2 7oz can) |
| Topping | ||
| 1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Grated mild cheese |
| 1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Unbleached flour |
| 1 | Salt | |
| 2 teaspoons | 10ml | Sugar - (optional) |
| Other half green chiles | ||
| 1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Cornmeal |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Baking powder |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Oil |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Milk |
Brown meat in skillet. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 20 minutes. Pour into a 4-qt casserole. Top with cheese. Mix rest of ingredients together and pour over the top of meat and cheese. Bake at 375F. for 30 minutes (or until topping is done).
