Recipe Ingredients

2 lbs 908g / 32ozGround beef
12 oz 340gTomatoes
1   Onion - chopped
1   Garlic - chopped
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlSalt
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlPepper
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlOregano
3 1/2 oz 99gGreen chiles - (1/2 7oz can)
  Topping
1 cup 146g / 5.1ozGrated mild cheese
1/2 cup 31g / 1.1ozCornmeal
1/2 cup 31g / 1.1ozUnbleached flour
1 teaspoon 5mlBaking powder
1   Salt
2 tablespoons 30mlOil
2 teaspoons 10mlSugar - (optional)
1/2 cup 118mlMilk
  Other half green chiles

Recipe Instructions

Brown meat in skillet. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 20 minutes. Pour into a 4-qt casserole. Top with cheese. Mix rest of ingredients together and pour over the top of meat and cheese. Bake at 375F. for 30 minutes (or until topping is done).
