Creole Chili Con Carne Recipe - Cooking Index
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Salad oil |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Onions - minced |
1/4 cup | 27g / 1oz | Celery - diced |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Green bell pepper - chopped |
3/4 lb | 340g / 11oz | Ground beef - lean |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Flour - all-purpose |
1 | Red beans w/chili gravy - (16oz | |
1 cup | 237ml | Water |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Hot pepper sauce |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Steak sauce |
Crackers | ||
Rice - cooked |
1. Heat oil in large skillet; saute onion, celery and bell pepper until golden.
2. Stir in beef; saute until red color disappears.
3. Stir in flour; add kidney beans, water, salt, pepper sauce and steak sauce.
4. Simmer, stirring often, until desired thickness.
5. Serve with crackers or rice.
