2 tablespoons | 30ml | Butter |
1/2 tablespoon | 7.5ml | Onion - chopped (large) |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Bell pepper - chopped |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Cayenne |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Thyme |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Pepper |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Cumin |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Lean beef - ground |
1 | Egg - beaten | |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Bread crumbs |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Catsup - divided |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Worcestershire sauce |
Preheat oven to 375x. Melt butter in heavy skillet over medium-low heat.
Add onion, bell pepper & spices; cook, stirring frequently, for 10 minutes or until onions and bell peppers begin to soften.
Combine ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, 1/4 cup of the catsup & the Worcestershire sauce.
Mix well. Add sauteed onions & bell peppers. Form into a loaf. Bake for 20 minutes.
Spread remaining catsup on top; bake for 40 more minutes.
