Swiss Steak Recipe - Cooking Index
2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Round or chuck steak |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Flour |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Salt |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Pepper |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Oil |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Chopped onion (small) |
Mix flour, salt and pepper. Pound thoroughly into steak with meat mallet or edge of saucer.
Brown the meat and onion in hot oil.
Cover; cook over low heat, or bake in a 350F oven until tender, about 1-1/2 hours or more.
