Steak Roll-Ups Recipe - Cooking Index
1 1/2 lbs | 681g / 24oz | Round steak |
1/4 cup | 15g / 0.5oz | Chopped onion |
1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Butter or margarine - melted |
2 cups | 474ml | Fresh bread cubes |
1/2 cup | 55g / 1.9oz | Chopped celery |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Dried parsley flakes |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Poultry seasoning |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Pepper |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | All purpose flour |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Cooking oil |
1 | Cream of mushroom soup - condensed | |
1 1/3 cups | 315ml | Water |
3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Browning sauce - optional |
Pound steak to 1/3 inch thickness. Cut into six pieces. Combine the next eight ingredients; mix well.
Place 1/3 cup on each piece of steak; roll up and fasten with a toothpick. Roll in flour.
In a large skillet, brown roll-ups in oil. Combine soup, water and browning sauce if desired; pour over roll-ups.
Cover and simmer for 2 hours or until meat is tender, turning occasionally. Yield 6 servings.
