Pirate Steak Recipe - Cooking Index
1 | Beer - (12 oz) | |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Chili sauce |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Salad oil |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Soy sauce |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Dijon-style mustard |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Red pepper sauce |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Liquid smoke |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Coarsely chopped onion |
20 | Garlic - crushed | |
3 lbs | 1362g / 48oz | Beef sirloin steak - 1 1/2" thick |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Pepper |
Mix all ingredients except steak, salt and pepper; simmer 30 minutes. Brush meat with sauce.
Place steak on grill 4 inches from medium coals.
Cook 15 minutes on each side, basting frequently with sauce.
Season with salt and pepper after turning and after removing from grill.
Serve with remaining sauce.
