Onion Smothered Brisket Recipe - Cooking Index
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Garlic powder |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Paprika |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Pepper |
1 | Brisket - 5 to 6 pounds | |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Vegetable oil |
2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Onions - sliced |
Mix garlic powder, paprika and pepper and rub into brisket.
Heat oil in Dutch oven and sear brisket on all sides.
Remove and set aside. Saute onions in Dutch oven.
Replace brisket and cover totally with onions.
Cover tightly and place in 275 deg. oven for 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
