Steak And Onion Salad Recipe - Cooking Index
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Flank steak |
1 1/4 teaspoons | 6.3ml | Salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Ground black pepper |
4 cups | 160g / 5.6oz | Leaf lettuce - in pieces |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Onion - thinly sliced (medium) |
2 cups | 474ml | Cucumber - thinly sliced |
1 cup | 237ml | Sweet red bell pepper - sliced |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Olive oil |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Lime juice |
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Fresh dill - chopped |
Preheat broiler. Season steak with 1/4 tsp of the salt and 1/8 teaspoon of the ground black pepper.
Broil 1 to 2 inches from the heat until desired doneness (3 to 4 minutes per side for medium-rare).
Cut into thin slices; cool slightly. Place in a large salad bowl with lettuce, onions, cucumber and red pepper, set aside.
In a cup, combine olive oil, lime juice, dill and remaining 1 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon black pepper; pour over salad; serve immediately.
