3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Basil |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Oregano |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Black pepper |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Garlic powder |
3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Onion powder |
6 tablespoons | 90ml | Parmesan cheese - grated |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | M.S.G. Or accent - (optional) |
* 12 OZ. UNCOOKED MOSTACCIOLI For the Sauce: Place tomato puree in a large bowl. Add all sauce ingredients and mix well. . For the Pasta: Cook the Mostaccolli according to package directions, about 7 minutes. Drain, and place in the bowl with the sauce. Cut pepperoni slices in quarters. Add 2 cups (8oz.) mozzarella cheese and the pepperoni. Mix well. Place in a 3 quart Glass baking dish. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake at 350 deg f. for about 25 minutes or until cheese is melted and dish is warmed through. Serve hot. Makes 8 servings. . Notes: You can use pasta shells or spirals but may need to adjust the amount. DO NOT USE A METAL BAKING PAN as the sauce and pasta will pit the metal. You can use ready to use spaghetti sauce or other prepared sauces but they have many more calories and contain much more fat. Each serving equals approx; 410 calories, 16 g fat, 845 mg sodium. Percent of calories from fat = 35 %
