Greek Style Bread Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 237ml | Milk |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Olive or vegetable oil |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
3 cups | 187g / 6.6oz | All-purpose flour |
3/4 cup | 109g / 3.8oz | Crumbled feta cheese - drained and patted dry is necessary |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Sliced pitted black olives - drained |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Sugar |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Bread machine yeast |
Add ingredients to bread machine pan in order suggested by manufacturer, adding cheese and olives with flour. Recommended cycle: basic/white bread cycle: medium/normal color setting. Breads made with fresh cheese may be more perishable: wrap airtight and store leftover bread in refrigerator or freezer.
Use leftovers of this zesty bread to create salad croutons. Just cut bread into bite-size cubes and spread in single layer in shallow baking pan. Lightly brush cubes with oil. Bake at 300* for 10-15 minutes or until crisp and dry, stirring twice
