| 2 1/2 lbs | 1135g / 40oz | Beef stew meat |
| 2 cups | 220g / 7.8oz | Chopped carrots |
| 2 cups | 220g / 7.8oz | Chopped celery |
| 3 | Onions - cut up | |
| 3 tablespoons | 45ml | Tapioca |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Sugar |
| 1 | Tomatoes - (28 oz size) | |
| 1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Diced potatoes |
| 2 | Bay leaves | |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Frozen peas |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Salt |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Pepper |
| 3/4 cup | 177ml | Hot water |
Combine all ingredients into heavy cookware. Bake covered at 250F for five hours, stirring occasionally.
Serve with dumplings or boiled potatoes or buttered noodles.
