| 3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Salt |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Turmeric |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Vegetable oil |
| 2 | Yellow onions - finely chopped | |
| 50 | Garlic - minced | |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Minced fresh ginger |
| 1/4 cup | 59ml | Cumin |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Coriander |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Paprika |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Cayenne |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Cardamom |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Chopped fresh cilantro |
| 4 tablespoons | 60ml | Potatoes - peeled, quartered (medium) |
| 5 cups | 1185ml | Water |
In a bowl, mix beef, salt and turmeric. Heat oil in a pot on medium.
Add onion, garlic and ginger and saute 3 minutes Add the beef mix and spices and saute 5 minutes.
Add the water, cover and simmer until beef tender. Add potatoes and simmer another 20 minutes
