Baked Brisket Of Beef Recipe - Cooking Index
7 lbs | 3178g / 112oz | Brisket |
3/4 cup | 177ml | Water |
3/4 cup | 177ml | Ketchup |
3 cups | 187g / 6.6oz | Onions - sliced (medium) |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Worcestershire sauce |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Chili powder |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Vinegar |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Paprika |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Ground red pepper |
Brown meat under broiler on both sides. Combine water, ketchup, onions, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, vinegar, 1 tsp salt, paprika, and red pepper. Pour over beef in roasting pan.
Bake, covered, for 4 - 5 hours at 325F. Check to see if done after 3 1/2 hours. Bake only until meat is tender. Check occasionally to see that liquid is still there, adding if necessary.
