Bavarian Cabbage Recipe - Cooking Index
| 1 | Onion - coarsely chopped (large) | |
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Butter or margarine | 
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Cabbage head - (abt 2 lbs) - coarsely shredded (medium) | 
| 1 | Spam luncheon meat - (7 oz) - diced | |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Water | 
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Caraway seeds | 
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt | 
| 1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Freshly-ground black pepper | 
| 2 tablespoons | 30ml | Vinegar | 
| 2 teaspoons | 10ml | Sugar | 
In large saucepan, saute onion in butter until golden brown, stirring often. Add cabbage, Spam, water, caraway seeds, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil; cover and simmer 10 minutes. Stir in vinegar and sugar; mix well.
