Maple Spam Stuffed Squash Recipe - Cooking Index
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Acorn squash - halved, seeded (small) |
1/2 cup | 55g / 1.9oz | Chopped celery |
1/4 cup | 15g / 0.5oz | Chopped onion |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Butter or margarine |
1 | Spam luncheon meat - (12 oz) - chopped | |
1 1/2 cups | 355ml | Frozen cubed hash browns - thawed |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Chopped apple |
1/4 cup | 82g / 2.9oz | Maple syrup |
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Place squash, cut side up, in a buttered 13- by 9-inch baking pan.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, saute celery and onion in butter or margarine until tender. Stir in Spam and potatoes. Cook, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are browned. Stir in apple and syrup. Spoon 1/2 cup Spam mixture into each squash half. Cover. Bake 40 to 50 minutes.
