Marinated Shad With Ginger And Honey Recipe - Cooking Index
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Shad fillets - skin on |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Vegetable oil |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Soy sauce (low-salt if prefered) |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Honey |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Freshly-grated ginger |
Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste |
Combine the oil, soy sauce, honey, ginger, and pepper. Marinate the shad fillets in this mixture for about 2 hours.
Broil, skin-side down, about 5 to 6 inches from the heat source for about 12 minutes. Cook longer if the fillets are very thick. Keep basting the fillets with the marinade. Do not turn.
Serve with rice and a spinach salad.
