Oven-Fried Alaska Fish And Chips Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Cornflakes - crushed |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Grated Parmesan cheese |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Cayenne pepper - or to taste |
1 | Egg | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Milk |
1/3 cup | 20g / 0.7oz | Flour |
4 | Pollock fillets - (4 to 6 oz ea) - thawed if necessary | |
Salt - to taste | ||
Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste | ||
Non-stick cooking spray | ||
French-fries | ||
Tartar sauce or cocktail sauce - if desired |
Toss together cornflakes, Parmesan and cayenne in a pie plate or shallow dish. Whisk together egg and milk in a second pie plate. Spread flour out on a third plate.
Season each fish fillet with salt and pepper. Dredge in flour, shaking excess from fillets. Dip in egg, and then coat with cornflake mixture. Place on a baking sheet that has been lightly sprayed with a non-stick cooking spray.
Bake at 450 degrees, 10 minutes per inch of thickness measured at thickest part, or until fish flakes when tested with a fork. Serve fish and fries with tartar sauce or cocktail sauce.
