Halibut Delight Recipe - Cooking Index
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Halibut - cut into chunks |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Garlic powder |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Curry powder - or a bit less |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Marjoram |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Baking powder |
3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Lemon pepper |
2 cups | 474ml | Panko (Japanese potato flakes) |
8 oz | 227g | Flat beer - (to 12 oz) |
Combine flour, garlic powder, curry powder, marjoram, baking powder, and lemon pepper. Mix well. Slowly add enough flat beer to make a thick batter. Dip halibut in batter and then roll in Panko. Let stand for 2 minutes.
Deep fry in 375 degree fat until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper and serve with a tartar sauce or a zesty tomato, horseradish sauce for dipping.
This recipe yields 3 to 4 servings.
