Halibut Delight

Recipe Ingredients

1 lb 454g / 16ozHalibut - cut into chunks
1 cup 62g / 2.2ozFlour
1 1/2 teaspoons 7.5mlGarlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons 7.5mlCurry powder - or a bit less
1 teaspoon 5mlMarjoram
2 teaspoons 10mlBaking powder
3/4 teaspoon 3.8mlLemon pepper
2 cups 474mlPanko (Japanese potato flakes)
8 oz 227gFlat beer - (to 12 oz)

Recipe Instructions

Combine flour, garlic powder, curry powder, marjoram, baking powder, and lemon pepper. Mix well. Slowly add enough flat beer to make a thick batter. Dip halibut in batter and then roll in Panko. Let stand for 2 minutes.

Deep fry in 375 degree fat until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper and serve with a tartar sauce or a zesty tomato, horseradish sauce for dipping.

This recipe yields 3 to 4 servings.
