Alaska Dungeness Crab Cakes Recipe - Cooking Index
For hot crab sandwiches, serve on toasted English muffins. Delicious served with chili sauce.
Type: Fish, Shellfish| 2 cups | 125g / 4.4oz | Dungeness crab meat - (10 to 12 oz) - thawed if necessary |
| 1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Soft bread crumbs |
| 1/4 cup | 15g / 0.5oz | Minced green onion |
| 1/4 cup | 27g / 1oz | Minced celery |
| 3 tablespoons | 45ml | Mayonnaise |
| 1 | Egg - beaten | |
| 1 splash | Bottled hot pepper sauce - (generous) | |
| Salt - to taste | ||
| Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste | ||
| Flour - as needed | ||
| 3 tablespoons | 45ml | Vegetable oil |
Combine all ingredients except flour and oil; mix well. Chill.
Shape into 4 cakes, about 3/4-inch thick. Dust with flour. Saute crab cakes in hot oil on both sides about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
