Easy Shellfish Boil Recipe - Cooking Index
Look for crab and shrimp boil seasoning packets at the seafood counter. Full of peppers and spices, these packets flavor vegetables as well as seafood.

Put 6 to 8 inches water into a large kettle (a small stock pot or canning kettle works well). Add the contents of the seasoning packets and the potatoes and bring the water to a boil. Reduce to a simmer, cover the pan loosely and cook until the potatoes are tender when pierced, 15 to 20 minutes.
Transfer the potatoes to a bowl and cover to keep warm. Add the corn to the simmering water and cook until the kernels are tender, about 5 minutes. Transfer the corn to a bowl and cover to keep warm.
Add the crab (you may need to cook 1 at a time, depending upon size of pan) and simmer until heated through, about 3 minutes. Drain well.
Arrange the crab, potatoes and corn on a large serving platter and serve, passing melted butter separately.
This recipe yields 4 servings.
