Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste | ||

3/4 cup | 177ml | Milk |
2 | Bread | |
1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | Ground beef |
1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | Ground pork |
1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | Ground veal |
1 | Egg | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Ketchup |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Parmesan cheese |
Saute the onion and pepper in the oil for 4 to 5 minutes, or until tender but not browned. Season to taste with salt and pepper and stir in the garlic. Cook for 1 minute and set aside to cool.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a bowl, pour the milk over the bread and let soak for 5 minutes. Squeeze the excess milk from the bread and combine with the remaining ingredients, adding the onion mixture and season with salt and pepper.
Divide the mixture into 6 even portions and shape into mini loaves. Bake for 20 minutes, or until done.
This recipe yields 6 individual loaves.
