Stuffed Mexican Pie

Recipe Ingredients

2 lbs 908g / 32ozGround meat - cooked, drained
  = (use ground sirloin, lean ground pork,
  Or ground white meat turkey, or a
  Combination of any two)
1/2 cup 31g / 1.1ozChopped onions
1/4 cup 36g / 1.3ozChopped green pepper
2 teaspoons 10mlChili powder
8 oz 227gShredded cheddar cheese
1   Tomato sauce - (8 oz)
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlGarlic powder
1/2 cup 118mlSour cream - plus
1 tablespoon 15mlSour cream
1   Egg white - beaten stiff

Recipe Instructions

Place meat, onion, pepper, sauce, garlic and chili powder in skillet. Simmer 8 to 10 minutes.

Spray 8- by 8-inch pan with Pam (or grease). Put meat mixture in pan.

Beat together cheese, sour cream and egg white and put on top of meat mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

This recipe yields 6 servings; 5 carb grams per serving.
