Chocolate Almond French Toast Recipe - Cooking Index

1 tablespoon | 15ml | Powdered sugar |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla extract |
Nonstick cooking spray | ||

1/4 cup | 27g / 1oz | Grated semisweet or bittersweet chocolate |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Whipped cream |
1/4 cup | 23g / 0.8oz | Sliced almonds |
Beat eggs, half-and-half, powdered sugar and vanilla together in shallow dish. Set aside.
Coat griddle or large skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium heat. Dip bread slices in egg mixture and let them soak about 15 seconds. Cook bread slices until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes per side.
Spread butter on toast, then sprinkle with grated chocolate. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with almonds. Orange segments, strawberries and tea make good accompaniments.
This recipe yields 2 servings.
