Timberdoodle Grill Recipe - Cooking Index
| 10 | Timberdoodle (woodcock) breasts | |
| 5 | Strips bacon - halved | |
| 1 cup | 237ml | Italian salad dressing |
| 1/2 cup | 118ml | Soy sauce |
| 2 teaspoons | 10ml | Garlic powder |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Fresh-ground |
| Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste |
Wrap each woodcock breast with half a bacon strip. Secure with toothpicks. Place in a zip-seal plastic bag, add Italian dressing and seal. Marinate 2 to 3 hours, turning occasionally.
Drain off Italian dressing. Mix soy sauce, garlic powder and pepper. Pour over bird breasts in bag, and marinate 1 hour longer.
Remove breasts from marinade, and grill over low heat until bacon is just crisp (10 to 15 minutes).
