Squirrel And Dumplings Recipe - Cooking Index
| 3 | Dressed squirrels - cut serving pieces | |
| Water - as needed | ||
| Salt - to taste | ||
| Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste | ||
| 2 cups | 474ml | Bisquick |
| 1/4 cup | 59ml | Milk |
Place the squirrels in a big soup pot with enough water to cover. Let simmer slowly until tender. Season with salt and plenty of black pepper.
When the squirrel is done, combine the Bisquick and milk in a bowl and mix thoroughly with a fork. Bring the water with the squirrel to a rolling boil, and drop spoonfuls of the dumpling mix in.
Cook 10 minutes covered and 10 minutes uncovered.
This recipe yields 3 to 6 servings.
