Buttermilk Batter Bream Recipe - Cooking Index
2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Bream fillets or pan-dressed bream |
2 | Eggs | |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Buttermilk |
1 1/2 cups | 219g / 7.7oz | Ritz crackers - crushed to meal |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Flour |
Peanut oil - for frying |
In a small bowl, beat eggs until frothy. Add buttermilk and mix.
In a zip-seal plastic bag, shake together the cracker meal and flour.
Dip fish in buttermilk mix, then drop in the zip-seal bag, seal and shake to coat.
Fry the fish until golden brown and flaky in peanut oil heated to 375 degrees.
