Roquefort Beef Burgers Recipe - Cooking Index
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Lean ground beef |
5 | Shallots - finely chopped | |
Salt - to taste | ||
Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste | ||
6 oz | 170g | Roquefort cheese - cut into 4 slices |
= (or other blue cheese) | ||
Country bread - to serve | ||
Green salad - to serve |
Put the ground beef and shallots into a bowl, season, and mix well.
Divide the mixture into 8 balls, then flatten each ball to form a thin patty. Place a slice of cheese on top of half of the patties, then top with the remaining patties. Press the edges together to enclose the filling.
Cook the burgers over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, until the burgers are brown and feel firm when pressed.
Serve the burgers on toasted sliced country bread, accompanied by a tossed green salad.
This recipe yields 4 servings.
