Padre's Country Style Ribs Recipe - Cooking Index

1 tablespoon | 15ml | Cinnamon |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Nutmeg |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Whole star anise |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Country-style pork ribs - individually cut |
1 cup | 237ml | Low-sodium soy sauce |
1 cup | 160g / 5.6oz | Brown sugar |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Chopped garlic |
1 cup | 237ml | Cider vinegar |
In a large pot, bring the water to a boil. Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, star anise, and pork ribs. Bring to a boil again, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Simmer the ribs for 30 minutes, or until done.
Combine the remaining ingredients in a shallow dish. Remove the ribs from the water and place them in the shallow dish. Allow the ribs to marinate in the refrigerator overnight.
Preheat a grill or oven broiler. Place the marinated ribs on the grill or in the broiler and allow them to brown. Turn the ribs periodically until all sides are brown and fully cooked.
This recipe yields 4 servings. Serving size: 4 1/2 ounces or 1/4 of the ribs.
