Beef Stroganoff II Recipe - Cooking Index
This casserole is hearty, tasty, and never goes out of style.
Courses: Main Course4 tablespoons | 60ml | Olive oil |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Minced onion |
2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Lean sirloin steak - pounded, and |
Cut into 1" cubes | ||
1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | Fresh mushrooms - sliced |
Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste | ||
1 | Nutmeg | |
1 cup | 237ml | Low-fat sour cream |
9 oz | 255g | Uncooked noodles |
In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the oil, add the onion and beef, and saute for 5 minutes. Add the mushrooms, pepper, and nutmeg.
Reduce the heat to low and add the sour cream, stirring constantly until well-blended.
Cook noodles in boiling water for 9 to 10 minutes. Drain. Place noodles on a serving dish and place beef mixture on top. Serve.
This recipe yields 8 servings. Serving size: 3 ounces meat plus 1/2 cup noodles.
