Spicy Cider Corned Beef Recipe - Cooking Index
3 lbs | 1362g / 48oz | Onions - sliced (medium) |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Cabbage head - cut in wedges (small) |
1 | Corned beef brisket - (3 to 4 lbs) | |
1 cup | 237ml | Apple cider |
1/4 cup | 40g / 1.4oz | Brown sugar - (packed) |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Grated orange peel |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Prepared mustard |
6 | Whole cloves | |
1 | Spiced apple rings - (14 oz) |
Place onions and cabbage in crockery cooker. Trim fat from brisket; place meat atop vegetables. Stir together cider, brown sugar, orange peel, mustard and cloves; pour over meat. Cover; cook on LOW-heat setting for 8 to 10 hours.
Garnish platter with apple rings. Pass mustard; if desired.
This recipe yields 6 to 8 servings.
