Glazed Sausage Striped Meat Loaf

Recipe Ingredients

3/4 lb 340g / 11ozMild Italian sausages
2   Eggs
1/2 cup 118mlMilk
2   Bread
1 teaspoon 5mlSalt
1 teaspoon 5mlWorcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon 5mlDry mustard
1 teaspoon 5mlBeef stock
1 teaspoon 5mlOnion (small)
1 1/2 lbs 681g / 24ozGround chuck
1/4 cup 59mlKetchup
1 teaspoon 5mlDijon-style mustard
1 1/2 tablespoons 22mlBrown sugar
4 tablespoons 60mlBoiling potatoes (large)
2 teaspoons 10mlButter - softened

Recipe Instructions

Simmer sausages in water to cover 10 minutes. Drain.

Place eggs, milk, bread, salt, Worcestershire, dry mustard, stock base and onions in blender container. Cover. Blend until smooth. Place ground meat in mixing bowl. Pour in blender contents. Mix until smooth.

Pat half of meat loaf mixture in bottom of crockery pot. Cover with sausages. Top with remaining meat loaf. Pat to seal. Combine ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar. Spread over meat.

Peel potatoes. Cut in strips (French-fry style). Coat well with butter and place around meat. Cover. Cook on HIGH 1 hour and reduce to LOW and cook for 6 hours.

This recipe yields 8 servings.
