Crockpot Beef Tips Recipe - Cooking Index
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Flour |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Freshly-ground black pepper |
4 lbs | 1816g / 64oz | Beef or sirloin tips |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Chopped green onions |
1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | Mushrooms - sliced |
(or 1 (4 oz) can mushrooms, drained) | ||
1 | Condensed beef broth - (10 1/2 oz) | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Worcestershire sauce |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Tomato paste or ketchup |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Dry red wine or water |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Flour |

Combine 1/2 cup flour with the salt and pepper and toss with beef cubes to coat thoroughly. Place in crockpot. Add green onions and mushrooms. Combine with beef broth, Worcestershire sauce and tomato paste or ketchup. Pour over beef and vegetables; stir well. Cover and cook on LOW setting for 7 to 12 hours.
One hour before serving, turn to HIGH setting. Make a smooth paste of red wine and 3 tablespoons flour; stir into crockpot, mixing well.
