Flank Steak Recipe - Cooking Index
1 1/2 lbs | 681g / 24oz | Flank steak - halved |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Vegetable oil |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Onion - sliced (large) |
1/3 cup | 78ml | Water |
1 | Chopped green chilies - (4 oz) | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Vinegar |
1 1/4 teaspoons | 6.3ml | Chili powder |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Garlic powder |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Sugar |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Freshly-ground black pepper |
In a skillet, brown steak in oil; transfer to a slow cooker. In the same skillet, saute onion for 1 minute. Gradually add water, stirring to loosen browned bits from pan. Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Pour over the flank steak. Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 8 hours or until the meat is tender.
This recipe yields 4 servings.
