Cabbage Burger Bake Recipe - Cooking Index
1 | Shredded cabbage and carrots - (16 oz) | |
3/4 lb | 340g / 11oz | Lean ground beef - do not brown |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Freshly-ground black pepper |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Onion - finely chopped (medium) |
1 cup | 160g / 5.6oz | Long-grain rice |
1 | Chunky spaghetti sauce - (28 oz) | |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Water |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Dried basil leaves - crushed |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Seasoned salt |
Place 1/2 of cabbage in 5-quart crockpot. Crumble ground beef over top. Sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper. Evenly distribute chopped onion, then rice over all. Top with remaining cabbage, salt and pepper.
Combine spaghetti sauce, water, basil and seasoned salt; pour over cabbage. Cover and cook on LOW 5 to 6 hours or until rice is tender.
