1 1/2 lbs | 681g / 24oz | Beef stew meat |
1 1/2 lbs | 681g / 24oz | Cubed lean pork |
2 cups | 125g / 4.4oz | Chopped onions |
2 cups | 292g / 10oz | Chopped green bell pepper |
1/2 cup | 80g / 2.8oz | Brown sugar - (firmly packed) |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Salt |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Dry mustard |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Chili powder |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Vinegar |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Worcestershire sauce |
1 | Tomato paste - (6 oz) | |
12 | Sandwich buns - (to 16) |
Combine all ingredients, except buns, in the crockpot. Cover and cook on LOW for 9 to 11 hours, or until meat is very tender.
Stir with a fork to break meat pieces up. Serve on buns with coleslaw.
This recipe yields 12 to 16 servings.
