1 cup | 237ml | Beef broth - from base or canned |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Red wine |
1 cup | 237ml | Bulgur |
Salt - to taste | ||
Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste |
Layer vegetables in crock pot; trim beef of all visible fat and cut in strips about 3/4-inch thick and add to the pot. Pour broth and wine over all and cook on LOW 6 to 8 hours.
Add bulgur and cook on HIGH until bulgur is tender, adding a little more broth or water if necessary.
