2 | Bavarian-style sauerkraut - (27 oz ea) - undrained | |
2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Polish kielbasa sausage - precooked, and |
Cut into 3" pieces | ||
1 | Onion - thinly sliced, (medium) | |
Separated into rings | ||
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Instant chicken bouillon |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Celery seed |
In bottom of slow cooking pot, layer 1 can sauerkraut, 1 pound of the sausage pieces, half the onion slices, 1/2 teaspoon boulllon and 1/4 teaspoon celery seed. Repeat layers.
Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 9 hours or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours. Serve with boiled potatoes and an apple raisin salad.
This recipe yields 6 servings.
