Scalloped Eggs Recipe - Cooking Index
8 | Hard boiled eggs | |
3/4 cup | 177ml | Milk, half-and-half or cream - more or less |
3/4 cup | 109g / 3.8oz | Seasoned breadcrumbs - more or less |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Butter - more or less |
Salt - to taste | ||
Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste | ||

4 | Bacon - cooked, crumbled |
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease an 8-inch square glass baking dish and cover bottom with a layer of crumbs. Place a layer of sliced hard boiled eggs, then sprinkle with crumbled bacon if using, dot with a few bits of butter, then repeat this layer process, finishing with a layer of buttered crumbs.
Pour cream, milk or half-and-half over the whole dish until it comes about halfway up the side of the dish. Place in oven until heated and browned, about 4 to 6 minutes.
This recipe yields 4 to 8 servings.
