1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Sugar |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla extract |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Ground nutmeg |

1/3 cup | 65g / 2.3oz | Butter - melted |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Finely-grated orange peel |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Chopped pecans |
In a medium bowl, beat together eggs, orange juice, milk, sugar, vanilla and nutmeg. Place bread slices in a 13- by 9- by 2-inch pan, overlapping if necessary. Pour egg mixture evenly over the top, cover and refrigerate overnight.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Brush a large baking sheet with melted butter, then arrange bread slices on top in a single layer. Sprinkle with pecans and orange zest. Bake until golden brown, about 20 to 25 minutes. Serve immediately.
