Quick Pepper Steak Recipe - Cooking Index
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Boneless beef sirloin or |
Top round steak, 3/4" thick | ||
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Vegetable oil |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Green or red peppers - cut 2"-long strips (medium) |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Onion - cut into wedges (medium) |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Garlic powder |
1 | Franco-American beef gravy - (10 1/4 oz) | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Worcestershire sauce |
4 cups | 640g / 22oz | Hot cooked rice |
Slice beef into thin strips. (To make slicing easier, freeze beef 1 hour.)
In medium skillet over medium-high heat, heat half the oil. Add beef in 2 batches and stir-fry until browned. Set beef aside.
Reduce heat to medium. Add remaining oil. Add peppers, onion and garlic powder and stir-fry until tender-crisp. Pour off fat.
Add gravy and Worcestershire. Heat to a boil. Return beef to pan. Reduce heat to low and heat through. Serve over rice.
