Smothered Chicken Recipe - Cooking Index
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Vegetable oil |
1/4 cup | 15g / 0.5oz | Finely-chopped onion |
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Finely-chopped green pepper |
1/4 cup | 27g / 1oz | Finely-chopped celery |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Skinless whole chicken breasts or thighs |
1 | McCormick Mushroom Gravy Mix | |
1 | Evaporated milk - (12 oz) |
Heat oil over medium-high heat. Add onion, green pepper, and celery. Saute 2 minutes or until vegetables are crisp tender.
Add chicken and cook 6 to 7 minutes per side or until browned.
Combine mushroom gravy and milk. Stir into chicken mixture. Bring to a boil; cover and simmer 15 minutes.
This recipe yields 4 servings.
