Garden Swiss Steak Recipe - Cooking Index
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Vegetable oil |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Beef round steak - cut into 4 pieces |
2 | Stewed tomatoes - (14 1/2 oz ea) - undrained | |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Thyme |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Freshly-ground black pepper |
1 | Birds Eye Broccoli, Corn and Red Pepper - (16 oz) |
In large skillet, brown beef on both sides in oil over medium-high heat; drain.
Add tomatoes, thyme, salt and pepper; cover and cook over low heat 1 1/4 hours or until meat is tender, stirring occasionally.
Increase heat to medium, add vegetables, stir and cook an additional 5 to 6 minutes.
Serve over hot rice.
This recipe yields 4 servings.
