Grilled Ham Steak With Mustard-Ginger Ale Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
Grilled ham steak is the perfect choice for a very simple and quick meal. The ham steak is rinsed first to wash off any excess salt. Adding ginger ale to the sauce gives it an elusive tang. This recipe is a natural with "Sweet Potato Home-Fries" (see recipe).
Courses: Main Course2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Ham steak - 1/2" to 3/4" thick |
12 oz | 340g | Ginger ale |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Honey |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Dijon mustard |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Chopped fresh mint |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Tabasco sauce |
1 | Ground coriander |
Rinse the ham steak in cold water. In a medium bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and mix well.
Grill the ham steak on one side at a medium heat and turn it after 4 to 5 minutes (it will turn light brown). Baste with half the sauce.
Move the ham to a cooler edge of the grill and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, basting occasionally. Serve the remaining sauce on the side.
