Grilled Tea Spiced NY Strip Steak Recipe - Cooking Index
Canola oil - as needed | ||
4 | New York strip steaks - (8 to 10 oz ea) | |
1/4 cup | 10g / 0.4oz | Fine-grind oolong tea leaves |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Freshly-ground white pepper |
Kosher salt - to taste |
Very lightly coat the steaks in oil and sprinkle with tea, white pepper and salt.
On a hot grill, well oiled, place the steaks and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes a side, criss-crossing them for grill marks. Be careful to move steaks around if/when there are flare ups.
Let the meat rest for 5 minutes before slicing on the bias.
This recipe yields 4 servings.
