Baked Ziti Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Onion - chopped (small) |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Tomato paste |
1 cup | 237ml | Tomato sauce |
2/3 cup | 157ml | Water |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Marjoram |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Basil |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Salt |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Pepper |
1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Fat-free ricotta cheese |
6 oz | 170g | Shredded part-skim-milk mozzarella - divided use |
8 oz | 227g | Ziti pasta - cooked and drained |
Lightly coat a medium-size non-stick pan with cooking spray. Sauteeonion until tender. Add tomato paste, tomato sauce, water, herbs, salt, and pepper. Simmer, covered, 10 minutes. Combine ricotta and half the mozzarella in a large bowl. Add the cooked ziti and half the tomato mixture. Stir gently to mix.
Turn into a 1 1/2-quart casserole coated with cooking spray. Pour remaining tomato mixture on top and sprinkle with reserved mozzarella. Bake in a preheat 375F. oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and browned.
