Vidalia Onion And Apple Casserole Recipe - Cooking Index
4 cups | 250g / 8.8oz | Vidalia onions - sliced into 1/8 (large) inch slice |
3 | Apples - peeled and sliced (medium) into 1/8 inch, slices | |
6 | Cooked bacon - crumbled, (reserve fat) | |
2 | White bread - , cubed | |
3/4 cup | 177ml | Chicken broth - , preferably homemade |
Layer onions, apples and bacon in a 2 quart casserole. Pour chicken broth into bottom of casserole. Cover and bake at 350F for 45 minutes. While baking, saute bread crumbs in 2 tablespoons bacon fat.
